My New Blog Mission Statement (Why I Rebranded After Only Two Months of Blogging)
Wow!! What a week I've had!!! I shut the blog down for a little while but I'm back now with a new and improved blog! I am beyond excited right now and can't wait to start pouring out new blog posts and more! If you've been a follower of my blog for a while, you may have noticed the change around here. It's massive, isn't it? Name change...theme change...new color scheme. I mean, I've re-done it all. And now I'm proud to announce that the Holistic Esquire, is now The Bold Approach.
Welcome to the Bold Approach!
I am super excited and super proud of my blog. It finally feels right to me.
This was a long time coming. I mean, I haven't been blogging for a very long time, but I knew that a change was coming from the beginning. I've got a whole new mission, vision, and all new content in the works! Things have changed for me and this blog, and I know it is for the better.
Now don't leave just yet!!! I will still be talking about goals and inspiring you to achieve your dreams. But my mission now includes a dream of my own, one that I am sure is a secret wish of yours as well...to become your own boss! I want to escape the 9 to 5 life. This blog has not only become my passion but the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope for it to one day grow into a source of income and a way for me to live a life of my own choosing, on my own terms.

This change is quite massive and I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't explain why I did a complete rebrand of my blog. It's going to get a little personal for a second, but I need to connect with you. I believe that sharing my journey and this process is necessary, not only as a source of accountability and evidence of my growth, but a source of inspiration for others who may feel a little disconcerted during their own journey. Everyone struggles sometimes, but just remember that the most successful people have had the most failures. It's the journey and the growth from your mistakes that count.
Okay, on to the story of the rebrand...
Hey, You!! PIN THIS!!
Why I started this blog
At the time that I created this blog, I had just started my practice of living mindfully with intention and purpose. I started meditating and doing yoga more often. I made myself more aware of my surroundings and the people in my life. Most importantly, I was at a point in life where I was simply tired of being stressed due to work or other factors. I wanted to create a habit of becoming more aware of the good things in my life, my intentions for myself, and my long-term goals.
One Saturday, after a wonderful morning meditation in the sunlight, I instantly had an epiphany that I wanted to start a blog. The thought was completely random and wasn't inspired by anything, to be honest. All I did was meditate! But the decision to start a blog felt right. And without thinking about it, I told myself that I wanted it to be about healthy living and mindfulness. I wanted to share how amazing and eye-opening intentional living really is (I still do by the way!!)
Thus, The Holistic Esquire was born. A play on words of my status as a lawyer choosing to make every day a good one. This is still true for me, however, it is no longer my main mission for this blog.
I Lost Motivation
Though I was excited and invested (quite literally) in this new journey, I hit a wall three blog posts in. Discussing healthy living is important to me and I truly thought I wanted that to be the only topic on my blog, but it started to feel so limiting. I couldn't think of new content to write. I didn't feel passionate about the topic to be completely honest.
Shortly into creating this blog, I lost that giddy feeling and slightly hit "blogger's block". I was fighting for content to write and couldn't think of anything that felt true to me. It was around this time that I realized this niche wasn't right for me. I wasn't being true to myself, to my blog, or to my readers. And that's a big problem because I want this blog to last. But most importantly, that was a problem for my intentions in life: to be completely vulnerable and honest with myself.
My Blog Lacked Personality
One day I sat down and took a look at my blog with fresh eyes. Despite all of the time that I had put in writing posts, promoting my posts on social media and Pinterest, I wasn't getting a lot of views. Though I received compliments from friends on my blog, my hard work was not paying off. That was definitely a kick in the a**. I'm a new blogger so I don't expect thousands of views instantly, but I didn't notice a growth in my blog's traffic or views and I couldn't figure out why.
I took to my blog and tried to look at it as if I were a complete stranger. I read my blog posts, looked at the design of the blog, and noticed one important thing. I didn't see "me" on the blog. Yes, my picture was on the blog, but my personality was not. The blog felt distant, for lack of a better word. It wasn't me. But most importantly, it lacked a focus and that was the problem. One that I believe could be felt by the readers that visited my blog.
My mini rebrand
After some much-needed soul searching and meditation, I decided I needed to figure out what my mission was for this blog. Around this same time, I had started doing research on building a successful blog. All of the posts I read all explained that a blog needs a mission. Without a mission, you lack direction. After some much-needed soul-searching and meditation, I forced myself to be honest about what I wanted from this blog. I had to figure out why I created it. And I learned two things:
- I wanted to inspire others to create their own space and become their own source of inspiration
- I wanted to make money from my blog (no shame!)
So, a couple of weeks ago, I did a "mini rebrand" and started blogging about something that I have experience with: motivating others to be greater. I started blogging about goals, personal growth, self-care, and productivity. Unlike my posts about healthy living that took me hours of research and writing, sometimes over the course of several days, I could pump out an inspirational blog in less than 2 hours. That speed and that passion in my blogs helped me know that I was headed in the right direction.

My views instantly increased
At the beginning of October, I wrote a blog about achieving your goals. I was crazy passionate about this post, because it is something close to my heart. That passion paid off and the blog post was an instant hit. It received over 60,000 shares on Pinterest and my blog started taking off. I received a ton of views and subscribers.

But something still felt off. I couldn't quite figure it out either.
Then it hit me...
I still forgot to include myself in the blog. Not only did I want to inspire others to be greater, I wanted to inspire them to take control of their own lives because that's what I want to do personally. I wanted to inspire others to become entrepreneurs, and in my case, even become a blogpreneur.
Since that mini rebrand, I've received countless comments on my posts and emails already from other subscribers who have told me how much my blog has inspired them. What did these individuals all have in common? They are bloggers, aspiring bloggers, and aspiring entrepreneurs. From that moment, I knew what I needed to do. What I wanted to do!!!
I Changed My Blog Name
The Bold Approach was born. I chose that name because I realized that becoming an entrepreneur is hard work and extremely risky. Trust me, I live with one. It requires you to be creative, fearless, and bold. One day, while going to sleep, these feelings raced through my mind and the name was instantly created. (Isn't it crazy that we have our best ideas while we're trying to sleep?)
The Bold Approach is all about mustering the strength, creativity, and moxie to decide that you want to take back your own life and create a life of your dreams. No one is going to hand that life to you. You have to take it. And that's what this blog is all about.
My New Mission
My blog is taking on a slightly different direction. It's picking up speed and I'm super excited about it!!!!! I've always known that my purpose is to help and inspire others. But I never truly realized how deep that passion was for me. I want to help others achieve their dreams. Become a boss. Become your own boss!! Build your own digital empire and become a blogpreneur.
Don't worry. My new mission, although promoting being a blogpreneur, is not at all negating my desire to help motivate you to achieve your own goals. In fact, it's fueling that fire!! By showing you guys my journey, I hope that it will inspire you to take your life into your own hands as well!!!
You will be seeing more posts about blogging, including beginner blogging tips, lessons I'm learning, social media marketing, making money online, and so much more! But you'll also be seeing tips on how to become an entrepreneur while still living a happy, meaningful, and productive life in the process.
